World Vision is an International Christian relief and development agency working in more than 100 countries around the world for well being of people especially children.

World Vision International in BiH together with partners currently is responding to the refugee situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina by providing a different range of activities for refugees in Refugee Center Salakovac and other Refugee Centers across BiH. 

World Vision also intends to expand its work by providing educational and social support and protection services for refugees in TRC Salakovac.

In order to respond efficiently and effectively, we are looking to find a committed and qualified candidates from BiH to be engaged as

• ASSISTANT TEACHER - 1 position, Location: Salakovac, Mostar 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

World Vision BiH is responding to the refugee crisis in BiH by providing social services and support to children and adult refugees.  World Vision BiH also intends to expand its work to include provision of Akelius Digital English Language Course services in TRC Salakovac. Assistant to English Teacher will be responsible for overall support to implementation of Akelius Digital English Language Course.       

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

The service provider’s responsibility will be to support implementation of Akelius Digital Language Course, as follow:

• Responsible for preparation of class/project activities (Akelius Digital Language Course)
• Preparation of equipment (tablets) for class
• Responsible for organizing the attendees/children for the class
• Documenting the progress of class/project activities (keeping track of the children participated in course, maintaining attendance lists, providing information on status of Language course)
• Maintain daily records, track children’s progress and intervene to help children progress as necessary
• Assistance in conducting English Language course classes for migrants children 5 to 18 accommodated in Salakovac TRC
• Foster a positive and collaborative learning environment where the unique needs of all students are met
• Preparing relevant inputs for project reports
• Ensuring classroom is clean and orderly.
• Maintenance of equipment (Taking care of WV equipment, conducting regular checkups of equipment, in case of equipment failure responsible for immediate reporting to the coordinator
• Establishing collaborative relationships with other stakeholders, operating in TRC Salakovac
• Working collaboratively with WV BiH Emergency Response staff and participate in weekly staff meetings
• Preparing relevant inputs for project reports

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

• Minimum high school education
• Education in Social Studies and related areas would be considered as an asset.
• Experience in direct work with children is essential- at least 1 year of experience working with children of all ages
• Prior experience working cross culturally or with migrants preferred
• Attuned to Safeguarding issues especially in emergencies
• Willingness to travel daily and willingness to help out with all activities in CFS including cleaning  
• Fluent English written and spoken preferred 
• Creative and energetic
• Strong moral values and discipline
• Experience in use of Microsoft Office applications, e-mail, and other internet applications
• Willingness to work in specific environment (e.g. refugee camp, mobile space-container)
